Damaged Baggage

 

The damaged baggage should be reported immediately to the Air Carrier and the respective personnel of the airport of destination or the baggage service (e.g. Lost & Found).

Provided that the damage to the baggage is discovered later, a written notice of the damaged baggage must be submitted to the Air Carrier no later than 7 days after arrival at the airport of destination.

The notice must be sent to the Air Carrier by e-mail to the address info@saartelennuliinid.ee. The compensation claim must be submitted to the Air Carrier no later than 21 days after arrival at the airport of destination.

The compensation claim must be submitted on the Compensation Claim Form.

The claim must be accompanied by, inter alia, the passenger ticket, the baggage check and a photo of the damage.

A suitcase or a travel bag that was damaged during the flight within the Air Carrier's area of liability shall be subject to repair or compensation of its value by the Air Carrier.

The repair or the compensation of the value shall be decided by the Air Carrier.

On the assumption that a suitcase or a travel bag cannot be repaired or it is not reasonable to do so, we shall compensate the value of the suitcase or the travel bag to the amount, necessary for purchasing a new equivalent one, taking into consideration a 20% annual decrease in the value of the suitcase or the travel bag.

The damaged suitcase or the travel bag must be delivered to the Air Carrier's office at: Lõõtsa 8, 6th floor, room 6, 11415, Tallinn. The time of delivery must be agreed upon in advance with the Air Carrier.

In the case you have made a baggage insurance agreement with an insurance company, please contact the insurer with the claim.
